Really Frank? Ctrl+Space shouldn't select the word(at least it
doesn't do it here).

To clarify some things:
The keybinding Ctrl+Space is to trigger the list if it didn't show up
automatically or was already hidden. Then the list will be shown and
you can choose one of the offered possibilities by selecting it with
the arrow keys. To take the chosen word, just press Enter or Tab.
