<p dir="auto">It's compatible completely.</p>

<blockquote>
<p dir="auto">Ok, well thats considered.</p>
</blockquote>
<p dir="auto">Well, after more looking at <a class="issue-link js-issue-link" data-error-text="Failed to load title" data-id="1060634652" data-permission-text="Title is private" data-url="https://github.com/geany/geany/issues/3015" data-hovercard-type="issue" data-hovercard-url="/geany/geany/issues/3015/hovercard" href="https://github.com/geany/geany/issues/3015">#3015</a> it's compatible in the sense that projects will be loaded and saved, but <a class="issue-link js-issue-link" data-error-text="Failed to load title" data-id="1060634652" data-permission-text="Title is private" data-url="https://github.com/geany/geany/issues/3015" data-hovercard-type="issue" data-hovercard-url="/geany/geany/issues/3015/hovercard" href="https://github.com/geany/geany/issues/3015">#3015</a> basically kills the possibility to move projects to other location without losing session files for that project so then this pull request becomes pointless. So I'm getting ready to be the evil guy who dislikes <a class="issue-link js-issue-link" data-error-text="Failed to load title" data-id="1060634652" data-permission-text="Title is private" data-url="https://github.com/geany/geany/issues/3015" data-hovercard-type="issue" data-hovercard-url="/geany/geany/issues/3015/hovercard" href="https://github.com/geany/geany/issues/3015">#3015</a> :-)</p>
<blockquote>
<p dir="auto">not really in favour of majik things like changing behaviour depending on a path being relative or absolute, and</p>
</blockquote>
<p dir="auto">Neither am I but this is the most reliable indication relative paths should work. One could always add a configuration option but this is not a good candidate for user configuration as it isn't easy to explain users what implication their choice will have and I can imagine users setting e.g. relative paths and then be surprised by results.</p>
<blockquote>
<blockquote>
<p dir="auto">it still has the issue of paths outside the project tree accessing unknown files if its moved to another machine, eg via git.</p>
</blockquote>
</blockquote>
<blockquote>
<p dir="auto">So no ..s needed</p>
</blockquote>
<p dir="auto">Yeah, I learned from my past mistakes :-).</p>
