<p>I think this would be a really useful feature for those using vim mode (could also be implemented as a plugin). Basically instead of showing normal line numbers, show line numbers relative to the position of the cursor. The line on which the cursor is would show 0, both lines above it 1, both lines above those 2 lines would show 2... Or you can have the line with the cursor show the real line number (this is called hybrid numbers in vim).</p>
