<p>I've reuploaded the snapshot here <a href="https://download.geany.org/snapshots/geany-1.36_osx.dmg" rel="nofollow">https://download.geany.org/snapshots/geany-1.36_osx.dmg</a> and I believe it will fix the problem for you. I don't think that what we did before was wrong, it's just that Catalina doesn't like it.</p>
