<p><a href="https://github.com/b4n" class="user-mention">@b4n</a> <a href="https://github.com/linvinus" class="user-mention">@linvinus</a> the example is unusual in that it does something strange with the object, in most cases you do <code>auto var = typename(params);</code> so only the <code>typename</code> tells you what is going on and it is currently type highlighted in Geany providing a good cue.  </p>

<p>If the typename is still highlighted as a type when Geany knows about it (as <a href="https://github.com/linvinus" class="user-mention">@linvinus</a> showed) thats fine, it provides the cue to whats going on.  Having the function highlighting <em>removing</em> the existing type highlighting functionality seems a backward step.</p>
