<p>Most tmpfile implementations I've used (including GLib IIRC) allow specifying a prefix and/or suffix, something like <code>/tmp/geany_001_x2d23k4sss4q.socket</code> has both qualities in this context. It's more complicated than a fixed file, but it's still pretty easy.</p>
