<p>Switched theme for windows and desktop (Was Nightfall/Crystal) no change - still fails.</p>

<p>No idea what you mean by the rectangular/block selection  - I am not selecting anything except typing in the search characters.</p>

<p>The search dialog (CTRL-F) fails in the same way.</p>
