<p>I don't really worry about checks taking up time, I rather worry about issues not getting noticed because they are a mere runtime warning.<br>
Having them run on <code>make check</code> and error-out will make Travis and <code>make dist</code> fail if they fail, so they should never get unnoticed.</p>
