<p>I don't think we should check generated files into git, but putting them in the tarball so any tool is only a "build-from-git" requirement makes it less of a problem (so long as it is properly documented, probably in readme).</p>

<p>That said <a href="https://github.com/codebrainz" class="user-mention">@codebrainz</a> point that Ruby is less known to the Geany devs is relevant too.</p>
