What I'm looking for is any discussion around https://github.com/geany/geany/commit/38147b2590f6d4e695c3637dd360631a1b7cc7f5#diff-5d5771dd29b0be0a11dd1148359dd0a650f7a69fe988ca5072f659bdf5be55d3 but it seems to be disconnected from anything I can find.  Better googlers/githubbers needed.
