the log shows the message about new file beeing created but nothing appears

the timestamps also illustrate the 2sec lag 

in fact I have found the same issue exists in 1.36.
It only occurs when there is no file openned. So if I have a file openned in geany, then clicking on new will work as expected.
If I open geany empty, it will start by default with a new file, and in this case, clicking on new will not work as expected
