I think focus following pointer would cause more problems than it would solve. Sometimes I move my mouse out of the way, for instance, when I'm to do a bunch of reading. I'll see if it's here and give it a try if so. Maybe it would work. Eat the first click was an option on the old, beloved metapad, and I've never forgotten it. Never caused a problem.

It would be great if someone would take care of the highlighting issue.
