Definitively it won't fix itself, "somebody" actually has to make a patch for it to get fixed :)

If it does, it will break Gedit and all other GtkSourceView editors that use the file-saving API in GSV, so it either a) won't change or b) will change and we'd have to copy the new work-around they use or c) "someone" will propose a patch for the needed API finally.
