[Github-comments] [geany] Fix hang in reflow command (and small improvements around) (#852)

Merged, as it waited a bit and I got bitten by this a few days ago and this fixed it, too.

@codebrainz see @elextr point in honoring tabs.  I would think honoring any blank is a good idea, but I'm not completely sure, and don't actually care much.  As this would be a separate improvement anyway, it can come in a separate PR.
