Well, rather than adding a dialog like that (and adding additional settings for "don't ask me again when replacing tabs-spaces") I must say I'd rather prefer not seeing this patch merged ;-). It's slightly annoying having to set the indentation type after each conversion but nothing that terrible. 

The reason I created this patch was I couldn't think of a single case one wouldn't want to change the document's indent type after the conversion and found the current behaviour a bit confusing (you perform the conversion, start typing and oops, wrong indentation type).
