[Github-comments] [geany] Cut in over-write mode (#763)

ctrl-x is universally known as "cut", that is "copy the text to the clipboard *and remove it*".  Changing the behaviour of such a universal action to "replace with spaces" is not a good idea and it should not be done.

If you are in overwrite mode you don't need to cut text, just type the spaces or whatever character you want over the existing text.

Note that overwrite with spaces will not necessarily maintain column positions with non-fixed width fonts and when the characters replaced with spaces are not single width characters.
