I personally never liked github anyway, as it seemed clear to me that it 
was primarily about making money, they chose a .com domain after all...

But as I am only a very minor contributor, my opinion is of course not 
important and I can't judge about the effort that is needed for that.

On a side note: I see that gitlab is .com, too...
