Hi. Maybe my quotation is not in a quite right place, what I was
talking about is that the main instance (and only it) should save the
settings.

Speaking about the behaviour you mentioned, I'd like your version too.
But, in my opinion, this feature is too minor to pay attention to.
Anyway, I'll implement the new version if it gets more votes
(especially from Nick and Enrico); this task must be really easy. So,
let's wait for other opinions.
