Hello,
I've being doing the PT translating for some time now, and felt I would give my 2 cents.
In portuguese we didn't had a word for indentation, but for quite some time now "indentação" seems to me to be the new and accepted word. There are some that write "identação" which is wrong. The word "endentação" exists and refers to the act of engaging a small gear/pinion ("carreto") or spindle with a large gear.
This might be different in brazilian though...
Kind regards, André

This question arises to me when I started to translate Geany. At that time, I searched for "indentação" in Portuguese dictionaries, but I couldn't find it. Then, I searched for the meaning of "indentation" in English dictionaries (e.g., http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/indent). I then realized that the word in Portuguese dictionaries which corresponded to "indentation" was "endentação", and so I used it.
Since then, some Portuguese dictionaries - but not all of them - began to include "indentação", as a neologism (an anglicism, really). So, I don't think "endentação" is not a correct translation for "indentation". I believe both "indentação" and "endentação" are correct, the decision is just a matter of style. In this context I can make this change in a future version, although I don't think is really necessary.
Regards, Adrovane.

The correct translation for "Indentation" word is "Indentação" in portuguese (not "Endentação").

Is this maybe a difference between plain pt and pt_BR? However, as I'm not familar with casuses of Portugese, can you please provide an update po file or a PR via github maybe? ;)

Hi, André.
I think the same is true for brazilian portuguese, "indentação" is a new but accepted word. So, I'm gonna change the translation to reflect this.
Frank, I'll send you an updated pt_BR on next weekend.
Thanks!
Regards, Adrovane.

For your information: This has been done and updated on git/master. So you can find the recent version with some stats under http://i18n.geany.org/
Thanks for the input! Language is always "under construction", which is making it an interesting topic IMHO ;)
Cheers, Frank
