The default color scheme uses red for comments, but the underline added by the spell checker plugin is also red. It's rather hard to spot spelling errors, especially in multiline comments.
By the way, some color schemes from [geany-themes](https://github.com/geany/geany-themes) have the same problem.
The spellchecker uses the standard Geany compile error indicator and the default theme which are set in `filetypes.common`.
Their defaults are: ``` indicator_error=0xff3030 comment=0xd00000 ``` which whilst not identical are clearly both in the red family.
Colours used in themes are a contentious issue, thats why there are so many in geany-themes. Having "relative" acceptance of the current default its unlikely that it will be changed and open a bikeshed.
But you can adjust those settings yourself for your user with `Menu->Tools->Configuration files->filetypes.common` (don't forget to remove the comments on the settings you change __and__ the above heading) and the Geany default does not need changing.
Geany-themes are maintained by the individuals noted in the `AUTHORS` file, you could raise it with them for their individual theme.
Closed #3346 as completed.
Ok, I'll close the issue then.
