I use Geany as a teaching tool for code, and the status window isn't all that useful for students. It would be really beneficial if the default message pane display was configurable, so we could choose to display the terminal by default.
Sounds like a good classroom project, contributions are welcome :)
Hah! I don't think we're really the right folk to ask; I'm teaching eight-year-olds who aren't quite ready to hack on C :)
I'll have a look through the code though and see if I can suss it out.
@stooj if you only use the Terminal tab, in Preferences->Various you can disable the `msgwin_*_visible` options, then it should make the Terminal tab shown by default. Not exactly what you want, but it might serve the purpose.
P.S. Awesome that you're teaching 8-year olds on Linux and using the terminal :)
This is working great now, btw. @codebrainz - they love it, it's "proper" hacking.
Is it OK to leave this issue open? It's still an enhancement I think would be useful and maybe I'll have an older student I can set on it.
