Just opening this for discussion as @kugel- is the owner of the code and I am not sure if the owner wants it to ship with official plugin.
As, geany seems to be moving to `gtk3` build, maybe ship https://github.com/kugel-/peasy instead of `geanypy`.
From my personal experience, the plugin from peasy works well.
It would only need @kugel- or somebody to make a pull request integrating it (and to maintain it). AFAIK any changes needed by peasy are already in Geany.
Note also that there is nothing to stop distros packaging peasy directly, its in Arch AUR IIUC.
@elextr technically nothing stops them, but practically they take all plugins available in this repo instead of hunting through GitHub to find replacements.
Distros and Geany plugins are the same, if "somebody" provides them with a Peasy package and maintains it they will ship it. Neither goes out and looks for projects, people propose projects to them and provide pull requests.
