I agree with Matthew Definitively I can use Save As right after Cancel, and we don't need to .complicate things. I took another look, and I realized what confused me. Usually Cancel means "do nothing". But, here Geany updates the timestamp. Let's tell about it. Add an information pop-up after Cancel, like:
"Be aware! Buffer timestamp is updated." or something similar. As for me it will be sufficient.
