-1 to exposing more TM, we should be getting rid of public TM stuff and focusing on a better (non-TM) API for plugins to be able to provide this kind of features (ex. using libclang, libpython, libuctags-future, etc), IMO. Also if the only use-case is to work around deficiencies in PyGI, it seems like it would be better suited as a helper function/API provided by the libpeas plugin.
