First sentence on msys2 website (my emphasis):
MSYS2 is a collection of tools and libraries providing you with an easy-to-use environment for building, installing and running native Windows software.
Also google found msys2/MINGW-packages#6929 (comment)
So I don't like your chances, if it was as easy as a recompile somebody would have done it by now, lots of things would use it, not just Geany.
