Keep the string, its for human consumption and use, and a pointer isn't.
Is it? It might be if it's for showing messages or having a list of priorities in a config file, but as @techee said we could do more with a GeanyPlugin
instance. I'm still not sure if it's needed, but the idea to e.g. be able to cleanup extensions on plugin unload is starting to grow on me -- not that we need to or will do that, but we could 😁
But there's probably no need to worry so much about this though.
