Im not sure if this is for the core, or more suitable as a plugin, but I would like to be able to keep my current search results (In the Messages tab below) when doing another search.
My proposal is to add it either by "detaching" or "freezing" the Messages tab, or by adding support for searching into a number of different search result windows (which I've seen in other editors).
