Well, I guess you could try modifying the freebasic parser to make an autoit one.

Well, I'm not a programmer, but I wanted AutoIt syntax highlighting and I got it :))
I will try and I found How to Add Support for a New Language to Exuberant Ctags, but not Universal Ctags.
Now I read awk.c: one element only, "function", and I think everything is not as difficult as it seems at first glance.
