Ive been trying the save backup file plugin and it doesnt work all the time, I make a change and save to a file in my dir to be backed up and no copy is created in the backup directory.

Just a "save as backup" next to the save, save as items would be very convenient, instead of doing save as -> different name -> save -> then open the file before namechange.
