Is there a default.conf somewhere i can edit or use to base a new theme on, as i only want to make small changes such as italic comments etc.

# Problems with compiling Geany 1.37.1 on Slackware 14.2:
First Problem:
$ /bin/sh .../geany-1.37.1/build-aux/install-sh -d .../package-geany/usr/share/geany
/bin/ginstall -c -m 644 ./COPYING /home/ric/TMP/package-geany/usr/share/geany/GPL-2
/bin/mkdir -p '/home/ric/TMP/package-geany/usr/share/applications'
/bin/ginstall -c -m 644 geany.desktop '/home/ric/TMP/package-geany/usr/share/applications'
/bin/mkdir -p '/home/ric/TMP/package-geany/usr/lib/pkgconfig'
/bin/ginstall -c -m 644 geany.pc '/home/ric/TMP/package-geany/usr/lib/pkgconfig'
make[2]: Leaving directory '/home/ric/TMP/geany-1.37.1'
make[1]: Leaving directory '/home/ric/TMP/geany-1.37.1'
cp: cannot stat 'COMMITTERS': No such file or directory
The package geany-1.37.1.tar.gz is missing the "COMMITTERS" file, as such compilation fails. Copying the "COMMITTERS" file from the 1.34.1 package to the 1.37.1 package, then recompiling works on a 32 bit laptop.
Second Problem:
On a 64 bit desktop, compiling the 1.37.1 packages results in the following error message:
/usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-slackware-linux/5.5.0/../../../../x86_64-slackware-linux/bin/ld: i386 architecture of input file `../scintilla/.libs/libscintilla.a(DBCS.o)' is incompatible with i386:x86-64 output
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
Makefile:708: recipe for target 'libgeany.la' failed
make[3]: *** [libgeany.la] Error 1
The issue is in ../scintilla/.libs/libscintilla.a(DBCS.o):
$ file DBCS.o
DBCS.o: ELF 32-bit LSB relocatable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), not stripped
Running a "make clean" before compiling is desirable.
After correcting successful compiling:
$ diff -q geany-1.37.1.working/ geany-1.37.1/ > geany.diff
Only in geany-1.37.1.working/: COMMITTERS
PROBLEMS WITH COMPILING Geany-plugins 1.37:
First Problem:
There are "missing files in the '.gz file (or the makefile needs tweaking).
diff -q geany-plugins-1.37.working/ geany-plugins-1.37/ > geany-plugins.diff
Only in geany-plugins-1.37.working/: HACKING
Only in geany-plugins-1.37.working/: MAINTAINERS
Only in geany-plugins-1.37.working/: autogen.sh
Copying the missing files from the 1.34.1 package to the 1.37.1 package, then recompiling works.
Second Problem:
In installing geany/geany-plugins I was also experimenting with updating gpg & gpg2 (from Slackware-current (aka Slackware 15-rc1). I need to update libassuan from version 2.4.2 to version 2.5.5. There is an issue with geany-plugins and libassuan 2.5.5. One of the libraries which geany-plugins depends on is no longer present in libassuan 2.5.5.
After reverting back to the default gpg/gpg2/libassuan (libassuan 2.4.2) the problem disappeared. Eventually geany-plugins may need a tweak for later version of libassuan.
Help: does anyone know how to shut off the github markdown stuff and use just plain old text? Thanks. S.

I'm used to Geany for everything I code (C, Python). Want to learn Julia now and I wish to carry on with Geany. There might be the case for other people as well?

Hello, I use Ubuntu 18.04, and am trying to install the Geany Debugger plugin. However, when I checked the terminal, I see this. Is there a way to fix this, or is this intentional?

Hello, I noticed that symbol window shows all the functions (an other symbols) list, with the declaration line number. I miss to see highlight the function where my cursor is. I am a C developer, but not familiar with Geany code, but if you point me where I can find the code is showing the symbol windows with pleasure I would like to contribute and fix it myself.

I've updated from 1.34 to 1.37.1 (Windows 7) and noticed very slow loading of the open files in a project consisting of many (around 100) files, each file is loaded one-by-one, taking longer and longer until Geany stops responding. I've checked with 1.36 and it has the same kind of issue except files open a little bit faster and there is no freeze. I've returned to 1.34 for now which loads files almost instantly.

Geany's markdown syntax highlighting (without the markdown plugin) is confused, when code block is indented.
All the text after code block end is blue and ignores *all following* markdown syntax highlighting .
![md_indented_code_block](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/1393254/114905882-c0be4c80-9e19-11eb-8ebe-3d5bfc41b439.png)
When code block is *not* indented, everything is ok.

Geany's markdown syntax highlighting (without the markdown plugin) is confused, when image link without title is used:
```
![](media\image21.png)
```
All the following text is highlighted bold (same as the link itself).
![md1](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/1393254/109849915-38615f00-7c52-11eb-9185-7f63af7c3b81.png)
Also the following markdown syntax is ignored - see ```*Obecné*``` is not in italics.
When I fill in some title to image link
```
![abc](media\image21.png)
```
then the highlighting became correct (i.e. only link itself is bold).
![md2](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/1393254/109849989-4b742f00-7c52-11eb-90d3-83d4109e5f25.png)
Also the following markdown syntax is ok then (*```*Obecné*```* **is** in italics).
The correct behavior is to highlight bold only the link even if its title is empty.

I think this would be a really useful feature for those using vim mode (could also be implemented as a plugin). Basically instead of showing normal line numbers, show line numbers relative to the position of the cursor. The line on which the cursor is would show 0, both lines above it 1, both lines above those 2 lines would show 2... Or you can have the line with the cursor show the real line number (this is called hybrid numbers in vim).

When I use `CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS` in SQL to create a table Geany does not create any label for that table in the Symbols left panel, the same problem occurs in Ctags.
This is an example of the problem:
![Captura de pantalla_2021-04-15_22-46-52](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/119…
Example code that I used:
```SQL
CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS test (
id INTEGER NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY,
mytext TEXT NOT NULL
);
CREATE TABLE another_test (
id INTEGER NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY,
mynum INTEGER
);
```
