I am trying to edit the following string in a one line file using Geany 1.36 on Kubuntu 20. The cursor seems to get stuck in column one and does not respond to right arrow (though it does to up and down arrows) making it difficult to edit the remaining text on this line. Alternatively if I push end then left arrow a few times Geany stops responding to further left arrow presses. Please tell me if there is something I can do to make it possible to edit this line using Geany?

I installed geany using `apt`.
By default, it opens in dark mode and the toolbar icons can be barely seen.

Normally geany looks like [this.](https://www.geany.org/media/uploads/screenshots/geany_light_2019-05-… (Image is taken from geany's website).
I tried reinstalling geany but it didn't work.
I am using `Linux Mint Cinnamon 20.2`.
Any fixes for the icons and how to change it to light mode?

In trying to NOT have my quotation marks and parentheses auto-close, I discovered that both the preferences and the plugins have auto-close options.
If you have both auto-close options on for paretheses, square brackets, and brackets, it still only produces one complementary character. However, if you have both auto-close options on for quotation marks, single or double, it produces a second complementary character, making three in total (that is, """). This doesn't make sense.
I'm using Geany 1.36. I checked the release notes of all the versions after that up to 1.8 and there has been no reported fix for this problem, so I assume it hasn't been noticed.

Below is exactly how Geany is sorting these document names with underscore chars. Same problem when changing underscore to dashes. VERY awkward when trying to group related source code documents in the left panel.
show_area_c.php
show_area_cc.php
show_area_cc_rs.php
show_area_c_rs.php

Hi,
i switched completely to geany on all my platforms because geany is available for windows, Linux Mint and Raspberry OS and is active in development. On Windows i used pspad and there was a feature which could compare two files and show the differences, i did not found anything like that for geany. Is there such a feature ?
Thank you

Currently Geany already provides one long line marker, which I find extremely helpful.
I find it so useful, in fact, I can think of a few situations where I could use an extra one.
Primarily -- Python's PEP 8 recommends 72 characters for docstrings, though the real code's line limit is longer.
Additionally -- Others may be working in heavily indented code and could use a vertical indicator for some specific nesting level, to help keep their place.
So if possible, I'd love the ability to set two separate long line markers of different colors in settings. (The second one would be turned off by default of course), just so I can watch one column for comments and the other for code.
Thanks for the project, it's been a huge help!

It would be useful if Geany supported build profiles (sets of build commands) and let you assign a different build profile to each geany tab. The user should be able to pick a default build profile that new tabs / files will use by default and geany should remember which build profiles were assigned to specific files.
