Inside #478 we recognized that Treebrwoser is using direct access to internal things of Gtk. This is very likely to break at some point and needs to be fixed.

If you load geany scope, load a simple "Hello world" software written in C compiled with -g, and you start the execution with geany scope you obtain a blank window without text or buttons and geany freeze.. so geany scope is unusable...

In the drop down file list on the tabs, I would like to be able to close everything to the right of the current file opened so I can keep the files to the left of the current file open. Or vice versa.

Some versions of GLib under Linux continuously generate G_IO_IN-s without any data to read when using recursive channel watch sources, causing 100% CPU load. This patch detects such a situation, and automatically switches the affected source from channel watch to 50ms timeout.
A bit of explanation about the recursive sources. Let's say that a callback displays a modal dialog with an error message, or a prompt, something like that. A new message loop is generated for the dialog/prompt, but the source that initiated it is excluded, to avoid calling it's callback for a second time while the execution is still inside it. But, if the source is marked as "recursive", it will be invoked from the new message loop, provided that the source event conditions are met. It has to be implemented carefully, both in GLib and the application that uses it.
The only spawn() client that currently uses recursive sources is Scope, so the GLib bug manifests there. And a glib bug it should be, IMHO, because (a) no message loop is created which can activate recursion; (b) no recustion takes place (verified); and (c) even if a there was a recursion, the source event conditions are not met: these G_IO_IN-s come without any data to read, which is a bug by itself.

All,
I'm trying to make friends with geany 1.29 and notice that the documents side-bar is littered with folders for every file that is opened. This makes the document sidebar window a complete mess. The display of folders in the sidebar is wholly unnecessary. The tooltips for each file provide the complete path for each file in a very efficient and real-estate saving manner. Removing the folders would allow for a much cleaner and more usable interface.
Is there a 'Various' setting or config setting that allows you to turn display of the folders off and just show the filename? If not, then consider this feature request for a way to simply display the filename in the Documents sidebar without the unneeded folders.

@techee would you be opposed to this if I were to make a pull request? I remember you said before you never implemented it because you wanted to keep the plugin simple [citation needed], but if I were able to make a simple enough patch that used GFileMonitor to watch the top directory, would be OK with it?
