</span></i><span style=" font-size: 10pt; color: #000000;">I read the description of PRELIGHT to mean the colow when a widget is hovered over... maybe I was wrong? At any rate, I tried this without success, but I could be missing it syntactically.<br>

I've since discovered two things:<br>
<br>
1. The selected text is indeed the right color if the (default and IMO, ugly) Vista theme is used at the system level<br>
2. It does indeed behave the same in at least one other GTK app (Gimp). I thought Geany was the only one, but was mistaken.<br>
