Ok, it was a simple change and should be better now(SVN r2088).

Hmm, you should "fix" your mouse ;-). I experienced similar problems
when I used a very coloured mousepad. This may confuse optical mice.
Since I'm using a plain white mousepad, my mouse behaves fine.

Back to topic: the VTE issue was also fixed. Any other widgets with
this problem?
