Can you give some more information?

Does it happen every time you start Geany?
I guess you have other GTK based programs that work?
Which GTK version are you running?
Which version of Geany are you running?
When does it Geany crash? Start it from a terminal with the command
line argument --debug and show us please the output.
Can you make a full gdb backtrace?
