If I remember correctly, applications just get a blast of scroll events, so I suppose in theory it could send the number of events relative to the distance traveled by the finger during scroll. Just a guess though.

That'd probably work in Geany too then, since it's just native win32 stuff. We keep all that cruft in [this file](https://github.com/geany/geany/blob/master/src/win32.c) if you want to give it a try. I won't work on this myself unless someone wants to send me a new monitor for free :)
